CSAS v3.17: Enhanced Timing Advance Visualization for US 5G Investigations
CSAS v3.17 delivers more accurate 5G Timing Advance visualization, expanded support for major US carrier data formats and improved workflows designed to move from data to insight more efficiently.
More Accurate Timing Advance Visualization for US 5G Data
CSAS v3.17 provides a more representative visualization of AT&T 5G Timing Advance data by applying the appropriate calculation based on available radio frequency information. This gives investigators clearer location context and reduces the risk of treating all 5G Timing Advance measurements in the same way.
Directional cells are shown as ‘annulus segments’ (arcs), while omnidirectional cells, or cells without azimuth data, are shown as complete ‘annuli’, or rings. This allows the most accurate representation of available Timing Advance data, without making any assumptions of cell coverage or directionality that can’t be supported by the records.
The release also improves transparency around Timing Advance interpretation. When CSAS identifies an omnidirectional cell, supporting tooltip and case comment information explains why it has been visualized in that way. The Cell Coverage context menu has also been updated from Arc to TA Band, making the available display options and caveats clearer for users.
Expanded Parser Support for Major US Providers
CSAS v3.17 expands support for key US provider formats, helping agencies work more confidently with data from AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon. Updates include improved handling of tower lists, 5G cell data, voice files, data-session records, and provider-specific file structures.
The release also strengthens field capture and format interpretation across complex disclosure material, including updates for APN, Handover Cell, timestamp, tower-list and target-number handling. These improvements support more reliable imports and give users greater confidence when working with evolving US communications data.
Turn Area Search Data into Actionable Intelligence
CSAS v3.17 streamlines the analysis of AT&T Area Search disclosures by separating records during import and making them available within Correlation Query. Users can quickly identify activity of interest and immediately visualise the geographic context.
Stronger Auditability and Defensible Outputs
CSAS v3.17 also includes improvements that support clear, consistent, and defensible investigative outputs. Enhancements across mapping, reporting and case outputs help users retain relevant context from review through to presentation, supporting a more structured approach to analysis and evidential reporting.
These updates are designed to help agencies produce clearer results, maintain confidence in the interpretation of complex communications data and support the documentation needed for review, disclosure and case presentation.
Modernized Platform, Ongoing Security
Alongside new investigative capabilities, CSAS v3.17 includes significant platform modernization to Microsoft .NET 10 Long-Term Support. Helping maintain a modern, supported application foundation for future development, security and reliability.
