Cell Site Analysis and Timing Advance Training

Forensic Analytics is hosting two intensive, two-day training courses at El Cajon Police Department, California, delivered by Joe Hoy, Co-Founder of Forensic Analytics, telecommunications engineer, and forensic expert with extensive court experience.

Course 1: Overview of Cell Site Analysis | 16–17 March 2026
This two-day course is designed to build confidence and capability in applying cell site
analysis techniques effectively. It provides a comprehensive overview of cell site
analysis and its value in criminal investigations. The course begins with an introduction
to the principles of cell site analysis, the types of data, and the benefits it can bring to
casework. Learners will gain a basic technical understanding of cellular networks,
including how devices connect to towers and the factors that influence coverage areas
of a cell.

Course 2: Overview of 4G/5G Timing Advance | 19–20 March 2026
Focused on Timing Advance (TA) as cellular geolocation evidence. You will learn:
• How TA works in 4G vs 5G
• Limitations and reliability
• Impact of DAS, satellite systems, and network delays

This intensive master class trains forensic RF propagation cell site surveyors.
