CSAS V3.16: Faster, Smarter and Built for Compliance

The latest version of CSAS V3, is a major new release designed to help investigators work faster, uncover more insights, and maintain the highest levels of compliance. With a refreshed Case Management experience, an all new Cross Case Search engine, and role profiles aligned to the Forensic Science Regulator Code of Practice, this release delivers meaningful improvements across both day today workflows and organisational governance.

CSAS V3.16 also includes a wide range of performance upgrades, parsing enhancements, and user driven improvements that make it easier than ever to import, explore, and interpret communications data.

Below is a look at the headline features.

A Smarter, Faster Case Management Experience

The new Case Management interface has been completely redesigned to make managing cases simpler, clearer and more compliant. Investigators can now access recent cases effortlessly, create new cases more intuitively, and quickly view all cases across their team and security level when working in Hybrid mode.

What’s new in Case Management

  • Brand new Home/Landing Page
Recent cases and core actions are front and centre, reducing the time it takes to get started.

  • Enhanced Case Visibility & Navigation
Expanded dashboards, improved case lists and a “My Cases Only” toggle help users focus on what matters.

  • Review Status Indicators
Clear prompts show when a case review is due or overdue—supporting internal RRD policies and governance.

  • Add Notes & Manage Case Status
Users can now add notes to document decisions or references, and can easily close cases when work is complete.

  • Super User Case Review Report
A new report gives organisational oversight of all live cases, including ownership, creation date, and review cycles—ideal for compliance monitoring.

These changes help ensure case work is managed proportionately, transparently and in line with regulatory expectations.

Cross Case Search — One Search, Endless Connections

CSAS V3.16 introduces a rebuilt Cross Case Search, giving investigators a vastly improved way to identify links, or previously unknown connections across both local and server cases.

Key improvements

  • Search from within any case, directly from Case Hub’s Multi-row view.

  • Search from outside a case using the new top bar global search.

  • Multi-identifier selection for deeper, broader cross referencing.

  • Attach attribution from search results straight into your working case.

This upgrade is designed to deliver rapid insight without repeating work, helping investigators uncover new leads and strengthen intelligence products with ease.

New DIG 101 User Profile for UK Compliance

To support organisations operating under the Forensic Science Regulator Code of Practice and DIG 101, CSAS V3.16 introduces a specialist user profile for individuals permitted to produce intelligence only products, not evidential outputs.

What this means

  • Full Access to Analytics
Intelligence users still have access to all analytical tools.

  • Mandatory Watermarks & Statements
All reports automatically include compliance wording indicating they are not for evidential use, supporting DIG 101 and DIG 200 requirements.

  • Role Acknowledgement
Users are prompted to acknowledge their responsibilities whenever they create or open a case.

This profile ensures transparency and traceability, while helping organisations maintain clear separation between investigative and evidential work.

Beyond the Headlines: Performance, Parsing & Usability Enhancements

Although the new features take centre stage, CSAS V3.16 also brings a huge range of deeper improvements across the platform, including:

  • Faster performance in Hybrid mode.

  • Stronger security with tighter validation and updated dependencies.

  • New and improved support for dozens of data formats from multiple operators.

  • Clearer visualisation and mapping updates, including redesigned map icons and smarter Timing Advance controls.

  • Numerous analytical refinements such as alphabetical analytics ordering, improved drilldowns, standardised durations, and updated First/Last Cell logic.

  • Enhancements in the RF Module including CellView integration, POI icon customisation, 5G SA support, and a new bidirectional location sync.

These enhancements reflect our ongoing commitment to precision, usability and real world investigative needs.
